Barber Oils

With Beards being so popular, the rise of beard grooming products has exploded, But what do these product offer and why use them?

Here at British Master Barbers we have tested some of the many beard oils on the market and aim to explain how they differ and can aid condition and growth of a beard.

Beard oil usage is now one of the main routines of the beard owner. This product serves both aesthetic and a functional purposes. Oil offers beard conditioning and nourishment and the mix of masculine scents is purely a personal preference and can almost take place of the usual manly cologne.

Most beard oils are made with all-natural ingredients and offer a healthy option for your skin and beard.

To use beard oil, pour a small amount into the palm, then distribute over the fingers of both hands. Then apply the oil directly on to the skin under your beard, this will start the hydrating process at the base, and work the remaining oil through the rest of your beard and moustache. This is also a good time to give the beard a bit of a comb. How often you use beard oil might depend on the dryness of the climate and hardness of the local water, but it could be from a few times daily to every few days.

We have been sent Beard oils from some of the most popular brands around the world and have found every oil has a slightly different viscosity, Scent and longevity.

All the products we have tested offered great results and greatly improved the look and feel of the beards we tested on, most of which have never used beard oil.

CONCLUSION:

Throughout our testing we noticed the aromas were the most noticeable difference in these oils. Obviously personal taste determines which oil you buy. Most brands offer smaller sample 10ml sizes so at a relatively small cost you can afford to mix it up and try a few.

The results on all the beard oils we used, clearly showed an improvement in smoothness, moisture, decline in wispiness and generally more nourished beards. If you have a beard and have never tried a beard oil, you have a lot to gain and little to loose.

Special Thanks to all the Beard oil manufactures that were involved with creating this review.
