With education at the forefront of this years Master Barber Live show we are always lucky to see demonstrations by some of the UK’s finest barbering educators. British Master Barbers Grand Master Barber MK took to the main stage keeping all the attendees entertained and informed whilst amazing artistic teams including Evolved, Mike Taylor Education and the Heartbreak club headed by Wez Omelio gave fine displays of Artistic and Tool Knowledge.
Andy Willis from Andy Barbershop Bicester and his team filled the stage with a vast array of styles and offered advice on how everyday barbers can run their business better, smoother and more professionally. Allan Stone, Theo Petrocelli and the Mod father himself Sam Arthur all produced amazing styles from very different eras, showing all that traditional styles keep coming back around.
The Master Barber Live Show always aim to provide as much education for free to all attendees and we have found the best way is our special seminar rooms catering to business advice, shaving and cutting.
The shaving and cutting education is always in high supply and with thanks to the Great British Barbering Academy and Salon Services everything from line ups, full traditional cuts and hot towel shaving offered attendees an insight into the correct educational standards required.
The members stage was new for this year and was very well accepted by everyone. Offing a stage platform to BMB members with little to none stage experience and fully guided along by regular experts Sean Swiss Sweeney and Robert Grosvenor. A massive well done to everybody on the members stage who all seemed to have had a great time and showed so much professionalism.
With over 25 various trade exhibition stands around the show there was a mixture of consumables and the chance to meet the faces behind the brands you regularly use. With these exhibitors everybody left with some amazing giveaways, the latest tools, barbering products and of course the first ever issue of the British Master Barbers Magazine.
The British Master Barber of the year competition sponsored by Andis was an amazing battle featuring ten highly skilled finalists that made it through the first round to compete live head to head at the MBLive show. This years level of quality produced was outstanding making this competition the toughest yet.
The winner michael Tominay received the grand title of Barber of the Year 2019 by creating an amazing music related cut with his own personal twist. The overall level of all the finalists models was commended by the three Hand picked judges. Judging is never an easy task but Andis educator Kevin Vorley along side British Grand Master Barbers Sam Arthur and Robert Grosvenor worked on the tough decision to conclude Michael as this years winner.
The British Master Barbers Industry awards was also an amazing event for many top brands and barbershops gaining well deserved recognition awards.
